Question for Westbury Manor Brides

Is anyone having their cocktail hour in the 'executive suite' upstairs? If so, do you know how many people the room can fit?

Also, I ate dinner at WM last night. The food was pretty good. My only complaint was the cake. I thought it tasted kinda blaahhhhhh. (It was white cake with canoli filling) Does anyone have any recommendations for what is offered and what's good for a wedding cake?I got tons of time before I have to make a decision, but just wanted some feedback!

Re: Question for Westbury Manor Brides

I dont know about the executive room i guess you could call but youre right about their cake- I went to dinner too and it was ehhh, I had some raspberry and my mom had cheesecake. so their specialty pieces are eh too i guess and I dont want to spend money on an outside bakery. oh well.

oh I had asked about a cake cutting fee there isnt one if you bring an outside cake but its not in my contract so I will find out for sure this thurs when i go to finalize menu.

Just wanted to let you know there is no cake cutting fee. I brought a cake from an outside baker and they had no problem with it at all. I just told them when I did my menu selection.

Re: Question for Westbury Manor Brides

A cake brought in from a bakery can range in price, depending on what you want, how big it is, etc. My sister had a cake brought in for 115 people and it was about $150.

I can't speak for ALL WM cakes - I personally would like to taste something else before I make my decision - but, the cake I had last night was just blahhh. Not very sweet at all. Definitely not worth the extra calories!

Re: Question for Westbury Manor Brides

For girls who want to taste the cake - they use Erga Bakery. At least when I got married they did. I called Perfect Wedding Planner and they gave me the information. I went to meet with the woman who was very nice and let me taste a few things. I then bought some items to bring home to our families. The cake tasted alright. For me, I went with an outside baker for two reasons. First, cause they couldn't make the style cake I wanted with sugar flowers and hexagon layers and second taste.
