Elwood School District

I am interested in a house in Huntington which has Elwood School District. I am teacher, but work in Nassau. I haven't heard much about this district. I would love to hear the good/the bad/ or hopefully not the ugly! Any input would help!

TIA

Re: Elwood School District

I grew up in Northport, not too far from John Glenn HS which is in the Elwood SD.
I think the school district is fine. I dont think they have any problems there.
Where abouts in Huntington is the house you are looking at?

Re: Elwood School District

I think the school district is pretty good. The only thing is that they don't really have a public library yet. The residents voted to get one and right now they have a little storefront library on Jericho Tpk. I'm not sure when (if ever) they are getting a 'normal' library. That might not bother you. (I'm a librarian and I would want a good library in my town.) I'm sure most other people don't really care.
