Buying a dress on E-Bay?

There is a beautiful dress on there right now and I am tempted to bid on it. Its a Jim Hjelm dress and has never been worn or altered. The girl said she decided to have a very casual wedding in Hawaii and will not be wearing the dress.
Anyone bought from E-Bay?

Re: Buying a dress on E-Bay?

I haven't bought a dress per say but I have bought stuff there. the most important thing to bare in mind is the selller's feedback. if its 90% or better, than that's great.
Also communicate with her if you have any questions. I don't see why not.
Good luck.

Re: Buying a dress on E-Bay?

I've bought lots of things from Ebay. I agree with the previous poster...feedback is very important. Other than that I don't see any reason why not too.

Also, I prefer to pay with credit card just in case there is a discrepancy you can dispute the charge. (just in case) I never deal with cash or money order when purchasing. Another thought is... Does the seller live close by? Maybe you can go see the dress first? HTH. Good Luck

Re: Buying a dress on E-Bay?

To me, so much of a dress was how it looked on. Did you try that style and size in a store? If yes, I would take a chance. If not, I would try to try it on in person first. Dresses I loved in pictures looked AWFUL on!

I saw your dress and posted on that board. But just so you know, I like your dress, but I would think twice about buying such an important item on eBay.

Re: Buying a dress on E-Bay?

I found my dress at David's Bridal... but my FSIL found it from an ebay seller for $300 cheaper and with Swarovski (sp) crystals. I'll have it at the beginning of April and I'll post my final thoughts then
