El Dorado Royale vs. Secrets Excellence Punta Cana

DH and i are about to book a trip for april ... we're in between these two resorts. I've read great things about both places.
Any advice or input?

Oh, also, if you've been to Secrets Punta Cana, how long is the trip from the airport to the resort? Thanks!

We are going to El Dorado Royale for our HM- we were going to go to Secrets Excellence Punta Cana but decided against it when we heard how bad it is off of the resort . . . I heard you really can't leave at all . . .

I was at secrets in cancun and it was great. Going to secrets punta cana soon!

I loved Secrets Punta Cana. We went for 12 days for our HM! The trip from the airport is like 40 minutes but it wasn't that bad.
