Areas in Suffolk ? Good School district?

Hey there...

What areas in Suffolk have the best school districts -- I am only familiar w/ Nassau County.

A friend just bought a house in the Three Village school district in S. SEtauket (it's such an awesome house).


Wouldn't even know where to look ?

my dh and i just bought in St. James (Smithtown Schools are great) plus i grew up in Kings Park - Great schools there too

Mine is good, South Manor SD. We have the brand new super school with all state of the art facilities.

I think Commack is the #1 SD in suffolk, Half Hollow Hills is very good too...

3 village and smithtown are some of the best in terms of test scores and number of national merit scholars and intel finalists

DH and I live in Northport - the Northport/East Northport SD is great, we both went through them growing up too, so did DH's parents.

In suffolk your best bets are:

Half Hollow Hills
Harborfields
Northport/East Northport

i work and live in 3 village... it is a very sought after district...

also good in this area is port jefferson, smithtown, rocky point, mt.sinai, shoram wading river... I dont know much more about western suffolk, but these are the more popular districts my area...

I would be careful of Miller Place... i heard they are having mega money problems and taxes have been rising a lot!! (so just do some research about it first!) but the schools themselves are good

We just bought in Commack...one of the best SD's in Suffolk. FH and I also grew up in Kings Park...another great SD.
