Bridal shower sister saga....am I overreacting??? (LONG!)
As a therapist I am keep telling myself I am entitled to my feelings but girls please tell me if I am overreacting.....One of my sisters (a BM) is teaching in Germany for the year so I had no expectations of her being able to attend my March shower. Well I found out she has a break from now until April 1st and decided to come home! Then I found out she wouldn't be at my shower since she would be visiting her boyfriend in CA from Mar 2 through April 1. I got hysterical about it since I felt slighted since I have a lot of close friends but decided to have mostly family in my BP and felt hurt that I chose her and my perception was she didn't care enough to come. After hearing how upset I was she called me back yelling at me saying it was going to be a surprise and she is coming and then went off on me for getting upset since even if she didn't come she didn't think it was a big deal. I also just found out one of my other sisters (long story but estranged from family but we are trying to include her) still hasn't RSVPed yet (invited went out beginning of the month so am feeling really down....Luckily I do have another sister (MOH) who has been amazingly supportive and wonderful! Ok had to vent....send some happy vibes my way.

I think it is totally understandable that you are upset.

It is 100% understandable! Sometimes event he most well intentioned acts tends to become misconstrued. They were probably so excited to surprise you they lost sight of how you would view it.

Thanks girls...found out today she never was going to surprise me but got talked into coming from my mom and one of my other sisters AND my estranged sister is coming too sooo although it was a bit upsetting to get to this point, it looks like all three of my sisters will be at my shower! (THE first time we really are together for like 5 years since my other sister's wedding so
