My FI and I are both NYC teachers he is calling in tomorrow and I HAVE TO GO IN
Because I didn't leave sub plans...so he said to me 'who doesn't leave sub plans before a major snow storm?' Um I don;t have 5 preps a day and lunch like him
He is in Junior High and I am in Elem School

I was sick before the break and took a sick day. Of course I am sick again, and its snowing but I can't take another day.Oh well I don't work in the city though.

I have my reading and language arts lessons prepared for 2 weeks ahead. For math, the kids pretty much work in books at their own pace. Science and Social Studies are taught by other teachers. Then again I work with two assistants and they can do my job without me. We just have to keep in compliance with our student:teacher ratio in case we are audited which is why I usually prepare and call for a sub. I have 8 kids in my class and on days when they DON'T cancel school, I end up with 2 or 3 tops and we end up watching a movie. Otherwise it throws off the rest of the kids when they come back and I end up teaching the same lesson twice (though I do that anyway)I work in a school/day treatment center for children and adults who are severely emotionally disturbed and learning disabled. Ages 5-21.

that stinks, my fh is a fireman and i know it stinks to work when he doesn't.

I hate when you're not sure the night before. I'd rather know if there's only going to be 4 inches or 10...this stinks!

That s.u.c.k.s!!!! I know I am going to have to work tomorrow and I DON'T WANT TO!!!! My next day off is Holy Thursday... seems so far away!

We don't even get Holy Thursday!! Only Good Friday...which is rediculous
