any tanning or gyms near grand central station?

i still cant find my way around this area.. i need a tanning salon and a gym..help!:)

There is a NYSC , at 200 Park Avenue.

I'm sure there is tanning , but I don't ever pay attention to where those are.

ps- tanning is bad for you.

ETA- there is a NYHRC on Lexington & 45th, but those are crazy expensive.

I used to go to Synergy on Park and 34th. It's pretty reasonable and I really liked it.

ETA: Synergy is a gym

There's an Equinox too on Lex ...

You would tan during work hours??? I'd be weary of getting tan stink ...

Michi, there's one in the Met Life building (200 Park) -- you just take the escalators from the main area in Grand Central and it's right there, just walk back and to your left. Pretty convenient!

I'm not sure about any good tanning in the area though. If you find something, let me know. I'm awfully pasty these days and that sh!t from Hollywood Tans keeps ruining my clothes!

I used to go tanning at lunchtime all the time and I was always worried that I had that 'scent' as well (but didn't care enough to stop)

I have found in general though that the tanning places are SO much more expensive than the ones closer to home, which is why I stopped going in NYC in general.. that and the fact I am too cheap now

Why wasn't it there when I worked at 200 Park????
Instead I joined NYSC on 46th and Fifth or so and NEVER actually went!!
