Re: some questions about brentwood country club and smithtown landingcc
I replied on the Lessings-Riverview thread. Brentwood has a very cheap package deal, and they were very nice, though the guy did say to some extent that you get what you pay for. Smithtown Landing was nice--we did not like that it overlooked the public swimming pool from the room where our reception would have been, and I believe she also said we might have to switch buildings between cocktail hour and reception. If you are interested in that type of place though, I would suggest Timber Point.

Re: some questions about brentwood country club and smithtown landingcc
I had a bad experience at Brentwood. A waiter dumped an entire POT of coffee down my back. The worst part was that all he would say was 'it wasn't my fault' over and over again instead of trying to help me at all. So obviuosly, that would taint my view on the place. Otherwise I think everything else was okay
I sort of had to drink a lot to take away the pain! I did enjoy dancing to Burn Baby Burn though!

Re: some questions about brentwood country club and smithtown landingcc
IMO, I didn't like the fact that you had to walk outside from one building to the other. I just went to a wedding there last week and it was freezing! The food was a bit on the cold side too, but maybe it was just an off day...

Re: some questions about brentwood country club and smithtown landingcc
My sister got married at Brentwood Country club 5 years ago and they did not have a good experience with them. In fact, my sister and her husband sued Brentwood Country Club and took them to small claims court where they got back some of their money. I wouldn't recommend this place.

Re: some questions about brentwood country club and smithtown landingcc
I went to a wedding at Smithtown landing, a sat. night in july, 2003. It was really nice, especially the room they had the reception in. I had a great time anyway. I'll see if I can find some pics.

$500 flowers - CP's and BP flowers
$500 limos (2 white stretch for 3 hours)

We liked Brentwood but its far out - Suffolk and we live in BK. The flowers I like are $30 - $45 per table extra (15+ tables).
$30 per table for 1 1/2 dozen roses.
$45 per table for 2 dozen roses.
1 dozen roses is $15 extra.
The package includes mums.
The flowers on display were all silk but the actual wedding flowers will be real.
The limo's we want would be an extra $480 for a Rolls to take us to the Brooklyn Bridge for pics after the reception and an extra $100 or so to take the bridal party back to the hotel in a 12 passenger.
The package includes 2 six passanger limos which can take us to the hall. We would get married at the hall so no church waiting time involved.
We liked the food alot. FI went back for seconds of the seafood scampi. He did not like the pepperoni though - one of his favorite snacks. I guess it was a different brand?
I really liked the short ribs and pasta stations. The skirt steak (carving) was pretty good too. I did not try the turkey carving station though.
The DJ, Lou, did not play very long....under 20 minutes really. We did not have a party crowd at all so lots of people were sitting. Even we sat during the set since we were 30 minutes late and trying to sample the food.
The invite book is HUGE - great selection. They had samples of a lot of invites we have ordered. However, FI said he would like to get something made up if possible - just to be different. Not sure how that will go over though since I'm sure custom invites are expensive.
The set up was very nice - 10 tables with 10 guests at each. It was the package set up for 100 guests.
I thought the gazebo was very pretty. The flowers are beautiful even in this cold weather.
The carpets need a lot of work, probably replacement. FI is really into that stuff. They have at least 5 weddings on Fri - Sunday so the place gets tons of traffic so I can see why the carpets look worn.
