What does honeymoon trip insurance cover? and did you get it?

Wondering if we should splurge for the insurance to go to Mexico in June.

We live on the edge with stuff like this - just wondering if you did/will as well.

We are foregoing the wedding insurance which is a lot more than the honeymoon- so, what the heck- we'll live dangerously!

We're getting it actually - maybe I'm being too cautious but I really feel better with it....I've just heard bad stories.
The insurance we're getting covers your luggage getting lost, or even delayed, sickness (and other very depressing things!), bad weather, delaying the trip, coming home early, etc. etc..
It's really not much money in the grand scheme of things (about $200 roughly) so we're gonna do it just for peace of mind. FM me if you want any other info...

We got it since it was only like $70 extra per person. It covers a lot of different things, like if you can't go on the trip due to illness, death in the family, hurricane, etc. We got it through our travel agent.

We did not get it because it was going to be like $1500. I thought that was way too much. However, if it was under $300 I would have paid it.

Our credit card provides us with trip insurance when ever we use it to pay for vacations so we did not get additional trip insurance other than what we already have.

W got it - for the amount of money we were spending for the honeymoon - it was not a lot at all - better safe than sorry!

We got it. We spent close to 8000.00 for our Hawaiian Honeymoon and god forbid anything happaned we would have it covered. I think it was maybe a hundred bucks each.

I don't remember because I never used it. It was from the TA. It was very comprehensive. That is why it was so expensive.

We will (most likely). It covers lots of things, depending on the coverage you select. Usually they make it much much less expensive to change your trip if something comes up, ie hurricaines, floods, tornados, bankrupt hotel, etc.

Ours was also about $70 per person.

It covers up to full cost of the trip, same reasons as mentioned above.

I got it. It was $550, but we were traveling 1/2 way around the world and we were overly cautious.

Hiya girlie! We got it because it was cheap, and at the time we booked our HM, my uncle wasn't doing well (he has the big C)...so we did it to be on the safe side. BUT since you like to live dangerously, I'd buy some extra bottles of wine with the $$ you'll save!

We got it. When you're spending almost 9k for a honeymoon, adding an extra $100 per person was no big deal.

Ours covers:
Price Guarantee
Waives any fees for changing reservation
Baggage lost/damaged or delayed.
Early return if you want to cut your trip short (yeah right!)
Concierge Service-restaurant referrals, reservations, event ticketing, golf tee times, etc.
Trip interruption
Emergency Medical and Dental, and medical transportation
Travel Delays

I think that about covers it. It's well worth it in my opinion!

I will never travel without it again..DH and I went on a 7 night cruise with no luggage. Still fighting with Delta to get some compensation

I think my wedding insurance covers the honeymoon too.
