Location for tented reception and BYO caterer?

Does anyone know of somewhere you can do a rented tent and everything and choose your own caterer? I'm pretty sure I've seen it happen in the movies, but I can't figure out where to do it in real life!

Nassau County Museum of Art I think may also do it outside. Or probably some places out east near the Hamptons.

I love that look, its so pretty and classic.

I don't know about a tent location, but the boathouse in Prospect Park is beautiful. If I remember correctly you rent out the place and they provide tables and chairs and you can BYO caterer. It might be worth a look. You also might want to see about estates in the Hamptons that might rent out for such events.

The place I'm getting married (Brooklyn Society for Ethical Culture) has a courtyard and lets you set up a tent and bring in a caterer. Max of 100 people.

Certain vineyards allow tents & most of them are BYO catering. Wolffer doesn't allow tents, but their patio is covered on top (clear plexiglass so you don't feel like it's a cover) and if it's windy, they have flaps that roll down.

I think the Vanderbilt in Centerport you can bring in your own caterer, too.

I went to a wedding where the couple had a rented tent and brought in everything themselves. it was at the Ny Aquarium in Coney Island. It was very nice and unusual.
