What questions to ask a moving company?

What questions to ask a moving company?

I have never moved. What questions should I be asking them?

is it a flat fee for all of your stuff, or extra for each piece of furniture?

do you pay per mile for the move or flat fee per county

extra for boxes
extra for tape
# of people on the crew

most places will only give you an estimate on the phone and then finalize it the day of the move after they see all of your stuff/

go through your place room by room and make a list of all your furniture so that you acn give accurate information beforehand and get a better idea of the price

if you're moving somewhat locally, and you have a car, my suggestion is that you move all of your hanging clothes. the wardrobe boxes are nice, but you never know how much you have until you move and then the cost of the boxes adds up.
