Picking Photos for the Album is SO Hard

We had almost 1000 proofs, and we need to wheedle it down to just under 100. In the beginning it was easy, but now I'm down to my 150 favorites and choosing is SO hard!

Am I the only one with this problem?

Nope - a lot of us are experiencing that. I put them into piles of the same and then picked what I thought was the best picture out of the pile. It helped

I had 1500 proofs. I had an album of 36. I thought, no big deal, I can do this.

Well, on my first run through I tagged all my 'must haves'. I tallied them up, thinking I'd be in the 50s, but could cut from there....well, I had chosen 97!!!!

Fast forward to the second round, got it down to 56.....three weeks later I had it down to 42 after repeated layouts of the 56 in order on the kitchen table.

Then I FINALLY got it down to 36. It's sooooo hard!!

All in all it took me over a month and a half to get to 36. DH was ready to shoot me.

Its hard for us too...we are just now going to go to the photographer to put the album together because it took us forever to choose pictures...

pick what you like then leave it for a day then anything you dont have to have pick out then leave it - i tried mulling it over and over and it didnt help let it be for a day or 2 was the easiest way for me -
it took awhile for us too about 5 weeks till we got it all picked and we were allowed 150

I had the same problem. I separated them into like and dislike piles. Then I took them again and figured out which of each pose I liked the best. My photographer helped me do the rest. It was so easy when he helped.

I still havent gotten my proofs back to my photographer because we too had over 1000 proofs and had the HARDEST time getting it down to 60!

I figure by the time I am married 9 months hopefully I will have it all done!

We had the same problem, when we signed our contract we picked 100 pics when we were finally done we ended up with 200 pics. It costed us extra $$ but it will be worth it in the end! It was such a hard decision. Can't wait to see the final product in MAY!!!
