Calling all ladies with minivans or SUVs to transport your tribe...

With 5 kids we have outgrown our mazda millenia and need a minivan or SUV. We are planning on buying one next month. However, I dont like the whole car salemen thing. I had a poor experience when I purchased this car and when the lease on FH's jeep was up we ran into nothing but shady car salesmen that took our deposits and never returned our calls until a month later to say there was nothing they could do for us. Can anyone suggest a dealer that they had good experiences with? We are probably going to buy used(2002-04)due to our credit not being perfect and we will need to do special financing. The other problem is that I paid the loan off on my car already but the car is in my name and FH will have to buy the minivan under his name since I am no longer employed will I go to school. Any help would be appreciated thanks

Re: Calling all ladies with minivans or SUVs to transport your tribe...

MIL had 5. Dh is the oldest by alot of years and she also transports cousins and grandparents alot.

She had a Excursion and loved it then switched to a Suburban and didn't love it so much but misses it compared to what she has now... not the kids are starting to drive so she moved down to a 4 door Explorer.

She had a Dodge Caravan when they were younger and they truely loved it but that was also because she had a crazy buick before that so the minivan was a huge step up for them then.

My Aunt has a TownandCountry which I think is a nice van but Dh is really iffy on mommyvan's because of his parents caravan he is still scarred by it since they got it when he was in HS.. lo

Yeah, I just feel old having a minivan makes me feel like such a mom ya know but with 5 kids and baseball, softball, volleyball, football etc. my little millenia isnt doing it. We've been taking the kids out in shifts. Plus since we the lease on the jeep was up last year we have been sharing one car which has put alot of miles on the mazda and made things very inconvienent.

Re: Calling all ladies with minivans or SUVs to transport your tribe...

Yeah we would actually like to buy a tahoe or Yukon but financially right now we couldn't afford that kind of payment. So we looking at minivans. Our real problem is finding a place that will finance us. Even though I paid my car off we have to go by FH's credit since he is the one with the income right now and we've been cleaning it up but it's still not good enough to walk in anywhere. I thought every dealership had special financing but not everyone does.

Re: Calling all ladies with minivans or SUVs to transport your tribe...

Smithtown Dodge has special financing as does Farmingdale Dodge (lee) that's how I was able to buy my former car my Dodge Neon.

You might want to look into you banks and see how much they would give you. Dh and I have done wonderful with our bank compared to what the dealership could get us plus alot of times the banks offer free GAP insurance which was always an added plus.
