a little annoyed with FMIL

I am not sure if I am over-reacting....
Both of my parents have passed away and planning our wedding has been very difficult without them. I have tried to include my FMIL whenever I could. Today, I picked up my FI for church and she told me that she was going shopping with her sister for a dress and that her niece could not make it. I was kind of surprised she did not ask me to go. The entire morning I worried about it and thought that maybe she was waiting for me to ask if I could go. So, when we got home my FI called her and and told her that if it was okay I could meet them shopping. She said that they wanted to go by themeselves! Why did she tell me then? I feel really left out!!! Am I blowing this out of proportion???

Re: a little annoyed with FMIL

try not to let it bug you.... it just gives you more time to do your own thing or spend some extra quality time with FH

Re: a little annoyed with FMIL

i dont think your blowing it out of proportion i think your fmil was very rude considering she must know how hard planning your wedding is without your parents. i would confront her and tell her how you felt or have dh say something to her.

Re: a little annoyed with FMIL

i would let this one go...

It's understandable that you are upset, but if she would rather shop alone, she would rather shop alone...maybe they needed QT together. Don't take it personally.

Re: a little annoyed with FMIL

It doesn't sound like she was trying to be rude purposely. Maybe she wants to suprise you with the dress she picks. Or maybe she felt she didn't want to burden you. Who knows they might even be buying you something. I think if she intentionaly wanted to leave you out she wouldn't have mentioned it.
