Family question....

I'm planning a reasonably large surprise 70th for my Mom in the summer. Problem is, I'm not speaking to 1/2 of my family (two brothers, one sister in law). Soo.....do I invite them because the party is technically for Mom or do I just make it about her friends to avoid any uncomfortable moments between my brothers and I. I don't have an issue inviting them persay, but I know they won't show.

Any thoughts??

Re: Family question....

I would invite them anyway - for your Moms sake. Its their choice if they want to come or not.

Re: Family question....

Is your mom on speaking terms with them? If so then I would invite them. I think she would want them to be there...
Also if you dont invite them and they find out, it may make the situation worse between you and them.
Also this could be an opportunity to resolve any of the issues you have between you.
