The only way you can still go to your ch AND get pics is to see eachother before the ceremony.

Re: how not to miss coctail hour

Or have your ceremony at 11 to allow for enough time for pictures before the CH

Re: how not to miss coctail hour

I didn't see that you specified you were definitely getting married at the hall. In that case, the only way I can think of is taking pictures before the ceremony, as the other bride mentioned.

Re: how not to miss coctail hour

We took pics before the ceremony-the best thing we did. We did a shoot two hours before and then the photographer did a few tables shots and candids the rest of the night.

Re: how not to miss coctail hour

Our wedding is at 5:30 but our cocktail hour isn't until 8:30. So we are doing pictures in between.

Re: how not to miss coctail hour

a friend of mine had reception at the vineyards..if guests arrived early they were able to walk around the place...outside..hang out in the cocktail room ..but they were served soda. and wine..and when the CH started thats when they served drinks..you could also have a cash bar..where the guests pay for their drinks..you would have to ask your hall what you can do!! good luck!!

We're not seeing each other before the ceremony, but are getting pics w/bridal party etc. done before hand. After ceremony will be rest of pics...oh and we are having an hour and half cocktail hour... We wanted to make sure we could enjoy!!!

Edit: ceremony is at same place as reception.

Re: how not to miss coctail hour

If you really don't want to see each other before and you want to enjoy your entire CH, my suggestion is to get married in a church. After your ceremony you go right to the reception hall and take your pics. Your guest can go home in between, freshen up bit. By the time your guest start arriving you will be done with the pictures and greeting your guests. This is what I am doing. Church is at 4, Ch starts at 7. We aren't having a mass.

Re: how not to miss coctail hour

You could just not take an hour's worth of photos. We have been to several weddings were the bride and groom only took a few formal pictures at the church and outside with their family/bridal party. You can do a lot before hand without seeing your FH.

You can do one or two group type photos during the reception.

We are doing all our pics before the ceremony- but will be creating a moment where we see each other for the first time with our photographer..
