Second time around

Hello All,

This is my 2nd marriage. 1st time around my other half thought he needed a 2nd relationship!!! ...during ours! Anyway, it has been helpful reading everyone's ideas and listening to other situations that are similar to mine. We don't really have a set date, we are looking into a destination wedding. Royal Hideaway in Mexico looks amazing.

Re: Second time around

Royal Hideaway is beautiful. I've seen a couple of beach weddings there. The ceremony set up is on the website.

There are tons of reception options including taking your group (assuming you will have a group) to one of the on site restaurants. Or you could have a reception in town at one of the restaurants.

I looked into this too but FI wants a wedding in NY.

Re: Second time around

Oh yeah, American Airlines (and others I'm sure) give discounts.

Per an e-mail I received:

The American Airlines wedding product is valid when you have at least 10 guests flying to your wedding. The discount is valid for travel to and from all markets where American Airlines, American Eagle, American Airlines Codeshares and all oneworld carriers provides service. As long as one segment is on American Airlines metal.

Oneworld carriers are as follows:

AA - American Airlines BA - British Airways
CX - Cathay Pacific QF - Qantas
AY - Finnair IB - Iberia
LA - Lan Chile EI - Aer Lingus

This discount may not be used in conjunction with other discounted type fares. I.E. Senior, child, military/government, Internet, companion.

Our comprehensive wedding package includes:

5 percent off the applicable discounted fares. 10 percent off the applicable First, Business and Full Coach published fares. All fare rules and restrictions apply. This discount may not be used in conjunction with other discounted type fares, i.e. senior, child, military, government, companion, Internet.

Advance purchase discounts of 5 percent for tickets purchased 30 days prior to departure for Domestic, Canadian, Mexico and Caribbean destinations and 60 days prior to departure for Central/South American, Pacific and European destinations. This discount is in addition to the percentage already offered.

The use of American Airlines codeshare will require that one segment of the itinerary be on AA metal and the discount be no greater than 10%.

Complimentary scripted wedding inserts for invitations being sent to out of town guests, notifying them of the discount.

Special car rental rates available with Avis Rent-a-car.

Attendees can start making reservations 330 days prior to their return date. This would be approximately around the 1st of April, 2005.

Please verify the city in which your wedding will be held.

To request the wedding product for your guests, please contact American Airlines Group and Meeting travel via E-mail and include this message or call toll-free 1-800-545-8193, Monday through Friday between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., central time.

We look forward to assisting you with your special occasion!

Best wishes,
Christina Herriage

Re: Second time around

Royal Hideaway's website is what got me hooked. I just looked at it and thought I would feel like a princess there. Well, an older princess, don't want to be a queen, that's too old somewhere in the middle. We are researching that and a wedding here. Our friends are for a destination wedding. There would be 7 couples, 2 couples are our parents, they like the idea too. I'll keep you posted.
