Smokers

ever hear or tried quest cigarettes? it is an alternative to the patch and gum. there are 3 levels availalble (low nocotine, extra low nicotine and no nicotine). you smoke in stages (not clear for how long on each) . i heard that 'taste' like crap, but really help those who WANT to quit.

and I feel like it's been FOREVER! I feel like I can't even go outside anymore just to enjoy the sun (when there is any) with out thinking about lighting up! agh!

Does your SO smoke? Mine doesn't and I figure that he's had to make out with an ashtray for 7 years.. i think its time to quit! LOL but it's sooooo hard!

How are you fighting the cravings?

DH was a smoker, we both quit on the same day though. I would say, If I had to pick that day's 8-11 were the worse for me. On day 14 I felt great for making it two weeks...even tempted myself by going to a bar, one of hte few left that you can smoke in!! I hung out for a few hours, had a few drinks and had conversations with poeple that were smoking. I am not goig to lie, it was hard! But I have been so proud of myself every since for getting through it.
It does get easier! I promise

Re: Smokers

Great i'm on day 8 tomorrow..

Thanks for the little pep talk though...
Little things like that help me to know that i'll make it.
I don't know if I'm ready to tempt myself by going out with smokers... that must have been really hard! I can't even imagine!

I might need another pep talk... I'll have to FM ya!

Thanks again,
Deb

Re: Smokers

I should clarify days 1-3 were the absolute worst! After that is was days 8-11

Two websites have helped me:

Quitnet.com
I like this one because it does the math on how many cigarettes you have NOT smoked, how many hours/days you have added to your life and how much money I have saved since I quit.

The second site that has helped a lot is
Motivation
This one sounds a little sales pitch like however, it si a great site to show that it really is a mind over matter type of thing. It helps you change your attitude and way of thinking, its a bit sappy but it really really did help me.
Feel free to FM whenever you need support.
This is not easy but you made the most important first step!
I am here whenever you need me
