Girls with curly hair that make it straight

Hi Girls,
I was wondering if anyone has curly hair and sometimes straightens it? If so what products do you use? Whats your process?

My process is very simple - I go to the salon once a week for a good blow-dry!! It lasts as long as it lasts and then it's back to curls until the next appt.

When I find the time and patience to do it myself (rarely), I use Frizz-Eaze Wind Down straightening creme and I take small sections and pull as taught as I can with a large round natural bristle brush. I use the concentrator attachment on the blow dryer (an absolute MUST unless you want hair flying all over the place!) and the highest heat setting. I start at the roots and don't leave them until they are completely dry, then I move down the rest of the section of hair. When you think it's dry, spend 5 more minutes on it.

I have really thick hair so total it can take me anywhere from 1 hr to 1.5hrs. So you see why I go to the salon.
