NWR: I need help! I bite my cuticles badly!

I think it's a nervous habit, but regardless...I really dig into the skin around my nails (on my thumbs) and now the skin on my thumbs is raw and it looks awful. Help! my wedding is in July and I cannot find anything that will make my thumbs go back to normal!!! I have tried putting bandaids on, which stops me from biting, but the skin is still badly red.....=(

I use Avon cuticle cream...maybe put that on in the morning so you won't bite them?

if you put band-aids on, the skin will eventually heal and the color will go back to normal.

there may be some stuff at the drugstore you can buy - you put it on your fingers, and it tastes bitter and keeps you from biting.

I do the SAME EXACT THING!!! And we are getting married on the same day! LOL

My FH hates it, says its so gross looking, and I know he's right. I find that I bite more when there is rough dry pieces on my fingers, because I feel compelled to get them off. So I try to put lotion on constantly and that kind of helps.

ETA: Oh, also, I know that I get into a biting frenzy when I am doing things like driving or sitting on the computer, so if I keep my mouth busy, by chewing gum, I bite less.

Thanks, girls! I put band-aids on right now hoping the color will return! I have so much nervous energy in my hands!!!!!

go to the drugstore and get that polish that tastes bitter...

you could also get manicures every week (when the skin gets better) maybe that way you will try not to ruin it by biting..
