my 3/12/05 Brentwood country club review

Well... the weather when I woke up was very scary, but it cleared up and turned out to be a beautiful sunny day.

I'll keep this short and sweet....

Brentwood Country Club:
I know that sometimes when people hear Brentwood, they cringe, but it really was a beautiful event. the atmosphere, food, help and everything was GREAT. Everyone was friendly and courteous. they let DH and I go for a walk thru before our guest arrived, this way if we didnt like the set up-it would be changed right away.
The food was TERRIFIC-not 1 person complained about it and all I can really say is that I highly reccommend BCC to future brides. We had a great time.

St. Anne's RC Church:
DH and I became members of this church because my church frowned upon the fact that we had children out of wedlock, but it was important to us that we had a church service.
After arriving home from the church rehearsal, someone from the rectory called me and said that my Baptismal certificate was out of date and if I didnt get an updated one right away, the church wouldnt marry us. So that day BEFORE our wedding, I had to run around like an idiot from 1 church to another. THEN after I picked up the revised certificate and drop it off at St. Anne's-the priest calls us and leaves a nasty message on our machine saying that if we were more organized and took our marriage more seriously, we would of known it had to be updated.
ALSO, there was a wedding before ours. It started at 1pm, our started at 3pm. Well as our guest were arriving, the other wedding was still at the altar taking pictures, but after our service was over, the priest, told us we only had 5 MINUTES to take pictures at the altar cause he wanted to take a nap and had to lock up the church!!!! I was MORTIFIED.

Ken and Eva's Flower Cottage:
it's a little shop in Brentwood, but they did a great job! very professional and friendly people. I wanted sunflowers and even though they were out of season-he had no problem ordering them for me-he added flowers to our wedding cake, they delivered the flowers right on time and all in all, it looked beautiful

Avanti Limo:
I used them thru a reccommendation of the BCC. At first it was hard to get in touch with them-but once we touched bases, they were great-called to confirm 2 times, the limo was right on time and he helped all of us get in and out of the limo(which is a task in itself)

X-treme Sounds DJ Productions:

my friend used them for her wedding, so we booked them. They were GREAT! very professional-took the time to help us pick out music. The dance floor was packed the whole night-everyone complemented them and asked for their business cards. I HIGHLY reccommend them for any event-I just found out that they became the house DJ for the Riviera

Hi-Lite Studios:

I was cautious about using them at first because they are a smaller company and I didnt hear to many reviews on them. all In all I was impressed with them. Very courteous. Right on time and took, what I hope to be some great pictures. I guess I'll find out soon enough.

Memories are forever video:
Very hard to get in touch with. Lots of phone tag with them, but they were there early and stayed late for some extra footage. they passed around the microphone for people to talk to us, but only to immediate family cause I didnt want the whole video to be people talking. They moved the camera around alot cause I wanted everyone to be on the tape, nit just the people who were on the dance floor all the time. JMO

I think that's it for now... We didn't do a honeymoon yet. We are waitng for the summer so we can go on a family vacation with out daughters.

Congrats! I am SO sorry St. Anne's gave you such grief. But you are married now!!

And besides, when you go to the rectory and request to speak to a priest about getting married and setting up the dates, they are susposed to ask you which church you received sacraments in and they tell you about the need for an up to date baptismal certificate. They shouldn't have let it get so far. They should have been hounding you months before.

I will check BHB for pics!!
