Has anyone ever eaten at Il Miradoro in Port Jefferson? Also, Town of Brookhaven Italian restaurant recommendations . . .

How is the food there? I am trying to come up with a list of restaurants (preferably Italian)for my FIL's to look at for our Rehearsal Dinner in the vacinity of Infant Jesus Church in Port Jeff. So far on my list are . . .

Carnival
Porto Bello
Amici's
Setauket Pasteria

My family is not a fan of Mario's in Setauket, so that one is out.

Am I missing anything?

My goddaughter's christening was at Infant Jesus, and the party afterward was at Il Miradoro. The food and service were great! Good luck.

I've been to Setauket Pastaria and Amici's - both very good.

Actually, Amici's is owned by the same family that owns La Scala in Commack and O Sole Mio in stony brook (by Loews). VERY good food, and reasonably priced.

Amici's would be my pick!!!

Also, you'll be right around the corner from Pasta Pasta - that's an idea too - although I feel the food at Amici is better.

Amici's is great. Pasta, Pasta may be a little to small (don't know how many people there are in your party).

Carnival has great food and it's been redone, so it's a lot nicer than it used to be. Although, it's still in a shopping center, so I don't know how you feel about that.

The people who own Miller Place Inn also have a restaurant in the Miller Place/Mount Sinai area.

There's also Savino's in Mount Sinai, but I haven't been there in ages.

I was going to say the same thing. I know the owners of Amici's (my brother is good friends with their nephew), and they don't own any other restaurants. The food there has always been consistenly good though.

Re: Has anyone ever eaten at Il Miradoro in Port Jefferson? Also, Town of Brookhaven Italian restaurant recommendations . . .

We had our rehearsal dinner at Il Miradoro, they were one of the only restaurants that would accomadate us on a Saturday night....Setauket Pasteria wouldn't do it on a Fri or Sat night,
I don't like the food at Amici's,
and don't like the food at Porto Bello.

Il Miradoro is nice because you have a waterview...it wasn't my #1 choice, but it worked out well.

Carnival wouldn't do it either on those two nights.

Re: Has anyone ever eaten at Il Miradoro in Port Jefferson? Also, Town of Brookhaven Italian restaurant recommendations . . .

Carnival
Amici's
Setauket Pasteria

all great places in my opinion... also try Ruby's in Pt. Jeff Station, or maybe the Three Village Inn in Setauket

I have had some issues with Il Miradoro and I am not a fan... On the few occasions of me being there, one a busy night, another a slow night... their 12 year old son and 15 year old daugher were acting as the bartenders, which i do not think is appropriate... Then their younger son was just wondering around the restaurant staring at everyone as we were eating, asking us how everything was... cute at first, but after the 50th time of being asked, it gets annoying...especially when you are a school teacher and the last thing you want on a night out are little kids around you! One time we were there, some peopel at the table ordered chix parm, others veal parm... they just plopped it on the table, one of our friends asked if it was chicken or veal, so the waiter picked up her fork and knife and started cutting into the food right in front of her! I dont think those are proper restaurant manners (i just might be pickier though, because i used to work at a restaurant) jmo

hope this helps!
