How close/far from due date is the best time for

How close/far from due date is the best time for

the Baby shower? Want to make sure Mommy-to-Be is as comfortable as possible....

Any advice from the currently expecting or mommies?

I'd aim for two months before. She'll be big enough to amuse the crowds, but small enough to enjoy the festivities. Plus it gives her plenty of time to assess the gifts received to handle exchanges and purchase the remaining necessities.

Mine was two months before and it was perfect timing. I have a chance to write all the thank-yous, return/exchange gifts if necessary, get the nursery set up and wash all the little baby clothes before the baby arrives. I can also shop for anything I might not have gotten that I will need, which I probably wouldn't feel like doing later on.

I wish my MIL cared about how comfortable I was before she threw me my shower!

She threw me one when I was 8.5 months PG and I had to DRIVE up to LI from NC for it.

But I think 2 months before is a good time! Maybe 3 months!

2 months is perfect! Beacuse of scheduling conflicts, we had mine on May 1st with my due date on May 26th. Well, I delivered on May 9th, so it was too close for my comfort and we still didn't have a lot of the things ready and set up!
