How soon should I order my invites?

I found the most incredible wedding invitations on now-and-forever.com. They are beautiful and PERFECT for our theme.

I spoke to a consultant at the company and she told me that they can have them printed and shipped in less than a week, 2 weeks maximum.

That being said, I am worried that for some reason these invites will be discontinued or no longer available when I am ready to place an order – sometime around June or July.

Would/have any of you ladies order your wedding invites 7 months before?

As long as you have the times set for the ceremony and reception you could definately order them now!

You really think so? I'm glad someone doesn't think I am nuts

The ceremony will be taking place at the hall, and that is booked.

Which actually leads me to another question about invite wording. Since I am getting married at the hall, should I add “reception will immediately follow” at the bottom of the invite? Or is that something that goes without saying?

I see that we are only 2 days apart and I just ordered mine on wed. My invitation lady said that early is better than later. I don't think it is ever too early.

Are you going to order seperate reception cards to go with the invites? If you do I would put that on the seperate card. If you are not going to get recption cards than I would put it on the invite.

No, I am not ordering seperate reception cards.

Is the proper wording 'reception will immediately follow' ? is there a website with wording options?

I believe that it goes on the same invitation when you are getting married at your hall. I would talk to the woman you spoke to from teh website. I would think that there would be a link on the website to show you wording. Also if you have a wedding magazine lying around (what bride doesn't ) there might be examples in teh magazine. Another option is to look online you are bound to find an invite that has the wording you are looking for.

I am in the same boat, I am ready to order, but feel it's too early; I think it's better early than later - especially if you know. I plan on finalizing mine over the next few weeks.

I decided to place my order this morning. I'm glad I did.... one more thing out of the way

The main reason I ordered them so early was out of fear that the invitation I fell in love with would become discontinued. AAAK! that would not have been good!

You did the right thing - better than kicking yourself later if you cannot get it. Now just don't look anymore!! When you find it, you know it, just like when you found your FI

I ordered my invites in January for my September wedding so I don't see a problem if you order them now. Speaking of which, I love the ones you've picked!!

I ordered mine in January and I am getting married in June. The only thing you might want to hold off on is the calligrapher- people move- I had that problem.
