Waste of money, JMO. I just use the regular trash can and throw out the garbage once a day.

see, that makes sense to me...the cartridges for the diaper genies are expensive, but this would be for my sil and supposedly everyone says YOU HAVE TO HAVE ONE!!! mho...what you do. but for them...who knows!

I agree. I bought a small step on wate can for the babies room. You can also use the diaper sack they sell, they come in handy when your out & need to change.

I agree with all the above ladies. I bought a small waste basket with a lid and bought the diaer bags from BUY BUY BABY and would just keep the basket outside my front door, I'd empty it nightly. Those diaper genies are GROSS! Who want a whole load of poopy diapers in your house!? Not me!

that is totally what i thought!!!!!!!!!! you have like 28 diapers sitting there...mmmm

but people seem to love them and there are like 3-4 out there and i wonder what is the best.

As for the dirty diapers keepers, I cannot recommend one. I put smelly diapers either in a Diaper Sack or supermarket produce bag and put them in the garbage, which usually goes out at night. I never have an odor. I just can't bring myself to save them

I use the diaper champ, which takes regular bags. But it is basially a garbage pail that looks nicer inside the nursery. I still use it (7 months). I empty it twice a week, but I don't put poopy diapers in it. Just pee pee diapers. The smell is strong when you open it, but I have dh do it!!

I agree with the ladies here. We don't use one. I put dirty diaper in the Blue sacks, then out they go. No problems with that. Plus, the thought of having a sausage roll of dirty diapers to take out skeeves me!

I use the Diaper Dekor and I love it. You just step on it and drop the diaper in. We change the bag twice a week, right before our garbage days, even if it's not full. I haven't noticed any smells coming from it. I guess if you wait the full week for the bag to get full a smell will develop. It took us about 4 months to go through our first box of refills and the refills are $20. HTH.

i forgot the name of what I have, but its pretty much just a plain pail. you press the button and the small blue top opens up and you push the diaper in. I got that one because it just uses regular trash bags, I knew I wouldn't want to be bothered with 'refills'....I think diaper genies are silly. :)

Diaper genies I think are a waste of money i use the regualr trash can and for the stinky diapers I bought from babies r us disposable diaper bags made by especially for babies they have a nice smell tothem as well

My thoughts exactly!!

We had the genie & it reaked so bad. We cleaned it once a week & even got a deodirzer for it. Nothing worked.

I have a Diaper Dekor and Love it...but I am in the minority I guess. I use it ALL the time. I don't mind getting the refills. They last a long time and don't cost that much. I just find it easier to use.

I registered for and received the Diaper Dekor Plus. Haven't used it yet as my due date is still six weeks away, but I've heard many positive reviews. I like that you step on a pedal to open it and don't have to touch the lid at all. And, once you don't need it for diapers anymore, you can use it for a regular trash can.
