Good but Affordable Restaurant in City for Bachelorette party?

Can anyone recommend a yummy but affordable restaurant in the city for my friend's bachelorette party?
We don't want anywhere 'bachelorette-ish', just a nice, normal type restaurant that is good, but not overly expensive. Maybe Italian or American cuisine . . . .

THANKS!

I think you'd do well at a Tapas place..

I really like Pipa or Alphabet Kitchen..

Also- there is a fun italian place in Hell's Kitchen called Mangia e Bevi-- they actually have a lot of bachelorettes out to dinner there-- but it is a fun place to go, that I would go any night if I wanted a really fun place.

We went to the Cowgirl Hall of Fame. It is a fun atmosphere, has good tex-mex food and great margaritas.

For a friend we also went to Cowgirl Hall of Fame and had a blast. Also, Ruby Foos was fun for a different friend. Carmine's or Tony's would be the Italian places I would recommend for this type of thing because these places are great for big groups.

Re: Good but Affordable Restaurant in City for Bachelorette party?

I was at Tonys last weekend and there was a bacherolette party there at a big round table. It was cute and they looked to be having fun. The waiter brought out a big cake for the B2B and sang this really long song about love to her. It was cute without being cheesy.

PS
food was sooooo good too

We went to East of Eighth for my FH's sister's bachelorette dinner. They have a $16 three-course prix fixe menu and the food was awesome...everyone was really happy. It's in Chelsea, right down the block from a subway stop. They have a website; just google them.

Really fun place down in Little Italy called 'Puglia's' - they have a guy playing the keyboard and singing Italian songs, you can sing and dance around the place, pitchers of wine, large servings and very affordable. It's so much fun! There's usually a birthday party or bachelor/ette party there...

I agree--very awesome gnocchi as well I also like Ruby Foos midtown because you can share a lot of their food, so it makes for a fun group place. Rosa Mexicano near Lincoln Square, Dos Caminos on Park Ave are great for Mexican. Isabella's is a fantastic Italian place on the Upper West. Citrus is also near there--it's a fusion place with great drinks. I eat out a lot. Can you tell?
