All Inclusive resorts for 1 year anniversary

Danielle and I are trying to plan a vacation for our 1 year anniversary.

First we thought about a cruise, but I get motion sickness, so we werent sure how I would be on a cruise.

Then we thought about an all inclusive resort like Sandals. We went to Sandals Grande St Lucian for our honeymoon and it was excellent. We wanted to go to Sandals Royal Bahamian for our 1 year but cannot afford to stay there. We do not want to spend over $4000 on our trip, and that is what that place goes for if you want to get a room with a balcony.

We were then going to go to the Grande Ocho Rios in Jamaica because that was the only Sandals we could afford, but we changed our minds and decided against that.

So now we are thinking Mexico. We found one resort we really like. The Grand XCARET in Riviera Maya, It is huge....11 restaurants, 10 bars, 5 pools, 4 bars etc....and I am sure there is plenty to do there...Danielle is concerned that the resort may be too huge....They have trams and buses that drive you around the resory....There are 796 hotel rooms and they are in 13 buildings that are scattered amongst the resort...Just so you get an idea of how big it is.

Has anyone stayed there by any chance? Ok other than that place, Does anyone have any ideas for an All inclusive resort that is under $3000. It doesnt have to be in Mexico, and we don't want to travel to Jamaica.

Thanks,
Scott

Re: All Inclusive resorts for 1 year anniversary

Try Secrets Resorts, there is one in Punta Cana Dominican Republic, and the new one in Mexico is open I believe.

Punta Cana had 7 restaurants, 2 pools, snack bars, it was easily walkable....we walked the perimeter every night after dinner. Plenty to do but no pressure to participate, everyone was so accomodating there, the food was awesome, only a 4 hr plane ride from NY, beautiful rooms. The best part....NO KIDS ALLOWED

Depending on when you go, you could get a great deal, we booked last Jan for a March HM and paid $3500 for EVERYTHING includiing airfare.

If I were you and wanted to go to the Royal Bahamian, and the only thing holding you back was the room category, I would get a lower room. I know it will be your anniversary, but how much time will you spend in the room?

Good Luck

Re: All Inclusive resorts for 1 year anniversary

My husband and I are going to the Bahamas this April and staying at the Riu Resort on Paradise Island. We were looking for an all inclusive but I could justify spending an extra $200.00 a night to stay at Sandals.

Oh, I thought it wasn't the lowest. I know Liberty Travel has good specials, did you look on their website?

ETA: just found this on Liberty Travel, but you have to travel by the end of June. Maybe they will extend it? Liberty

Rui Resort

We stayed at the RIU in Punta Cana a couple of years ago. There are like 4 or 5 different resorts on the same property- they're all different prices. We stayed at the cheapest one, the Naiboa. The nicest one, a 6* resort, is the Princess I think. I would say th most fun one would be the Bamboo. They have the best swim up bar.

The great thing about going back to Sandals is that you are a returning guest and have a good chance of getting upgraded to a suite with concierge service.

Re: All Inclusive resorts for 1 year anniversary

Miro thanks..but I think we are going to go to the XCARET resort. It also got 99% excellent reviews on Trip Advisor....

It sounds really nice, and it looks amazing from the pictures on the main website and other sites I found....There is a gondola that goes around the whole hotel, and next door is a park that has an underground river that you can swim through...and you can also swim with the dolphins amongst other things....

I cannot wait to see all the ruins....Gotta take plenty of pictures this time...On our honeymoon we used a disposable camera most of the time and the pictures came out horrible...This time I am using my digital.

Re: All Inclusive resorts for 1 year anniversary

if You are doing Mexico, you definitely need to check this resort. they have this suite called the mayan suite just for couples with an outdoor shower. It's beautiful and definitely it has one of the best pools.

check it out.
