OOT Planning stinks

I hate that vendors I've talked to only meet potential clients tues-thursday. I so don't have enough vacation time to make a zillion trips up to LI during the week to meet with all the vendors. My job is usually busy during the week and its hard to get time off other than friday or monday. ARRG!

How many other OOT brides are there???
I'm in VA.

I'm not OOT but FH is...and since he wants to be VERY involved...it stinks.

I'm in VA too!

I feel your pain! It's a huge amount of stress.. just to make the calls during the regular business day, let alone trying to visit with vendors M-F.

My OOT gripe:I really hate that people can't give ball park prices over the phone. I always have to try to explain that I'm planning from OOT and that I don't have the ability to visit with every vendor.

A part of me wants to transfer to the office in NY just so this will be easier.

Yea don't get me started on not giving ballpark prices via phone or email. I can't make long distance calls from my desk phone, so I have to go outside to use my cell phone to call vendors during lunch.

I gave 3 photographers the date I would be on LI and said this is when I can do it and they were all accomadating...as far as prices over the phone they wouldnt give me any but 2 did send brochures to my home...

communicate via internet/email...they seem to respond to me...in a timely fashion (most of the time)

I am not OOT but I work until 10 PM almost every night of the week. It's really tough planning a wedding and trying to meet with vendors with this schedule. i feel your pain Amanda!

Wow! I couldn't imagine your schedule and planning a wedding. Makes me feel better knowing there are others of us out there though.
