So much time between Church and Cocktail Hour
My church is at 2 o'clock and my cocktail party does not start until 8. I was wondering if anyone else had this issue and if they did where did they go for pictures (prefferably inside), and what did you do for limos/bus?

Yep. CHurch is at 2:30, cocktail hour at 7. We are doing some pictures after at my parents house and then Argyle Park (near CHateau La Mer)....we have the limos the whole time, driving us from church to parents to park to reception (I think...need to check on this!).

ours starts at 2 and the reception starts at 7.We rented the limos for overtime. I wanted time for the pictures, so I knew it would cost me.

Re: So much time between Church and Cocktail Hour
same prob- church is at 230 hour long and cocktail hour is ay 7 - we will be busy with pics at that time...OOT guests will just have to go back to their hotel if they are getting one-my parents are also leaving my house open (with uncle and aunt in charge) to have coffee ...relax before they go... it will take 45 min to get from church/my house to hall

Re: So much time between Church and Cocktail Hour
My church is at 3 and the cocktail hour starts at 6, that was the shortest time we could do. I know I do not care for weddings when there is a huge break and no where to go. It also seems less people go to the church when there is a bif break, it is just my opinion though!

Re: So much time between Church and Cocktail Hour
Our wedding is at 5:30 but our CH doesn't start until 8:30. I was a little concerned but I think it will work out. It's good in a way because there will be plenty of time to take pictures ( I didn't want to do them before the wedding) I know it's old fashioned but I don't want DH to see me before the wedding not because of superstion but because I want his first look to be me walking down the isle. So it's actually better that thereis time between the church & CH. Also another bonus is that we are having pictures taken at the church and Westbury Manor so we get to be at our own Cocktail hour instead of missing it. I think us brides that have a large time gap are actually lucky we don't have to rush around and we can actually slow down and enjoy our day!!

Re: So much time between Church and Cocktail Hour
My parents are having family back out the house but my biggest concern was the price of the limos for all the additional time we need. If anyone has some reasonable quotes or can recommend a limo company I would appreciate it.
