1 Year anniversary Gift Ideas
Hello all,I am quickly approaching my one year date...and I have no ideas what to get my hubby as a gift. Does anyone have any inexpensive ideas???
Also any affordable get aways for a weekend in the area would also be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Pam

Re: 1 Year anniversary Gift Ideas
Traditionally, first anniversaries gifts are supposed to be paper...Here are some tips from a web site:
1) Books
When purchasing a book, think about your spouse's passions, interests, and hobbies. If you can't write a love poem yourself, get a book of poetry for your lover.
2) Board Games and Puzzles
This gift would be a promise to spend an evening together working on a jigsaw puzzle or playing a classic board game like Scrabble.
3) Stationery
This could include pretty writing paper, personalized business cards, colorful postcards, note cards, and envelopes.
4) Tickets
Purchase a couple tickets and take your spouse to his/her favorite sports event, movie, or theatrical production. Other tickets could include airline, ferry, train, bus, or balloon rides.
5) Paintings
Everyone loves artwork that touches our heart and soul and brings beauty to our life.
6) Coupons
Write out a coupon for a massage or for a dinner out or for a walk in the rain. Use your imagination!
7) Love Letters
Write a love letter. You can do it!
8) Posters
Posters have become a very popular art form. You should be able to find one that matches your spouse's interests.
9) Photographs
Buy a nice frame for a photograph of the two of you.
10) Calendars
You could get an electronic one, or a pictorial calendar, or a diary, or a journal style, or an appointment book. Mark all the days that are important to the two of you, and add in a few new ones as a surprise.

I got DH tickets to a b'dway show, and he got me a certificate for a day at the spa. We also went away to Mystic, CT. We stayed at The Whaler's Inn. It was so nice and very affordable.

Re: 1 Year anniversary Gift Ideas
We did paper gifts, too.I got my DH tickets to a football game when is favorite team came to our town.
He got me a pencil drawing of our e-pic. It looks so realistice - like a B&W photo - you can't even tell until you get close up. It was so sweet, I didn't even know he knew 'paper' was the thing to get

Re: 1 Year anniversary Gift Ideas
As for the gift, I would suggest either tickets to something or even making a photo album from your first year together- you can either gt th album and do it yourself or you can make one on Shutterfly. An fairly inxpensive trip would be Newport or Mystic.

Re: 1 Year anniversary Gift Ideas
I bought my DH DVD boxed sets for Christmas and he loves them. But also, we watch them together, which he likes. So like Amy said, it is a gift, but also sort of a promise to spend time together. An affordable getaway - we LOVE Cape May, NJ. It is driving distance and so beautiful
