Making the wedding cake card box?

It seems easy enough but I was wondering if anyone had any helpful suggestions, tips, shortcuts etc.?

I have my boxes, glue gun, fabric, ribbon etc.

I found directions but they are not very clear.

Where did you find your boxes? The ones I saw at the Michaels near me were not quite right.

I got them about 5 months ago at TJ Maxx in Plainview. They are not plain... they have some sort of Caffe Expresso design all over them. I'm probably going to have to cover them in paper first before I put the fabric on them.

I made mine using a wooden milk crate and lined it with white satin. I brushed an antique stain on the box. I also bought wooden letters to spell our name and some other decorative items. It looks nice.
