Book makeup & hair early

My advice to brides, book early! I wish I did. Most everyone that has a great rep are all booked now and it stinks!

Re: Book makeup & hair early

OMG YES BOOK EARLY!!! I am having an awful time trying to book people. Everyone that got huge raves on this board are already booked. Thank goodness I have one or two people to check out, but it still took awhile!

Re: Book makeup & hair early

I agree I started booking trials in jan and most peopel couldn't see me until feb or march...some were even booked already for my november date so I would recommend booking at least 9 months to a year in advance especially if you have your heart set on someone.

I totally agree! I'm not getting married until February, but I booked Oksana already, just to be safe!

Re: Book makeup & hair early

I totally agree. I waited until around 8 months before my wedding to start looking -- big mistake!! Everyone I wanted a trial with was already booked. Luckily I found a great person anyway but what stress!! I'd say start looking 1 yr - 1.5 yrs out the latest!!

Re: Book makeup & hair early

I already booked hair over a year to go... and makeup will be done at same place- but I have to do a trial first--prob in may or june!

Book early to get who you want!

Re: Book makeup & hair early

I agree!!! Luckily my friend who works at Estee Lauder hooked me up w/ a co-worker who is fabulous...if we weren't date twins, I'd recommend her to you. But if all the 'known' make-up people are booked, sometimes those girls who work the counters in Macy's or Bloomingdales (Estee Lauder, Lancome, etc) do a fabulous job & charge much less...just a thought...as far as hair, just go into a reputable salon & find a stylist who works well with your type of hair & can do a great updo...good luck.
