gift/thank you question

i recieved a edding gft from my aunt who i know will be attending the wedding and i figured it is a wedding gift - do i send a thank you now, and one after the wedding for attending - or just one after

Send one now. We already got a wedding gift from someone who is also attending our wedding, and we immediately sent a thank you. You could always send an additional one later.

I would send her a thank you note now on either stationary with your maiden name on it, weddingish type thank you notes, or pretty paper. The stuff with your and FH's monogram/names or picks from the wedding are for after the wedding. You can send her the aforementioned before the wedding to thank her, let her know that the gift was received, etc. and one after the wedding just to thank her for her presence and reiterate how much you love what ever she gave to you now.

you can always get a regular thank you and then send a nice one with the pic later

Etiquette says you have a year to send out thank you cards so I would send a thank you with a picture after the wedding when you send out everyone else's.

If you're sure it's a wedding gift then defintely after. I had that happen but not as early as you!

yeah i am sure it is a wedding gift - my aunt just strted clicking on our wedding website and buys a present when she books the hotel - but she is also the person who by accident buys 37 tickets to jimmy buffet off ebay
