Vent about VENDORS CALLING

So at about 6pm tonight (DINNER TIME I MIGHT ADD) I get a call from a vendor asking if I still need a DJ...telling me about all the hundreds of weddings they do and how they are close personal friends with the BMs at the Swan Club!!! And keeps asking me to set up and appointment and when would I want to set up an appointment.

Another thing that pisses me off is that I have no idea where he got my info from!!! KNew my phone # obviously, date of my wedding, place and my address!!!

I am so sick of these cold calls from these vendors...you know what if you need to make these calls to drum up business...obviously no one wants to use you!!! IT MAKES ME SOOOOO MAD

I hear ya!! I get phone calls all the time and its gets me so mad. I would love who is giving all my info out. I am so mean to these people because I am sick of all these phone calls!!!!

And he couldn;t tell me where he got my info from either...which makes me even MORE MAD

I really think they get my info from my hall. Im not sure but thats my gut feeling. I will be so mad if I ever find out for sure.

Ugh! I definitely think they got your number from your hall -- especially if they had all of that information.

LOL! FH just got a phone call from a vendor as I am typing this. Whenever someone calls, we just tell them that we have already booked whatever they are trying to get us to buy.

Right after we booked, we got A LOT of mail from the recommended vendors. The hall definitely gives out your information.

They are very annoying!!! I received a phone call the other day from a recommended vendor for Villa's and they left this long message on my phone then a few minutes later they called again calling for my FI. Ummmm....hello you just called this number. It wasn't like it was a different person calling. It was the same person telling me the same info.

Many halls give your name and number out to their house vendors. It's annoying.

Kathleen - also got a call from a DJ tonight around dinner time! Must have been making the rounds! They happen to come recommended by my hall, so that is where they got my info. I told her a month ago that we need some time. We're waiting until FH finishes this semester b/c it's way too much trying to see vendors while he is in school. Anyway, a month to the day she calls back - ummm it's April, the semester is not over yet!

I think a lot of vendors got my info from when we were touring halls. Every hall I visited took my name, # and address and now I am receiving tons of mail. Thank God I didn't give out my cell!

i think the hall gives your name to house vendors...Plus anytime you go to a showcase, those vendors are given your information....I usually give out my cell phone number...This way when it rings & I do not recognize the #, i don't answer it & let it go to voicemail! Eventually they stop calling

when i first signed up for LIW, i also got a few phone calls from vendors, and every week i get all kinds of advertisements from vendors. When you sign up for LIW, they give your information out to their paid advertisers--ahh i guess its the price you pay for using this site--which is fine by me, because i just throw them all out!

I've found if you tell them that you booked your DJ/Limo/etc already and to take you off the list the calls seem to stop.

It's annoying I agree, but as someone who had to make cold calls from time to time I like it best when people are honest. I wouldn't want to waste my time calling people who aren't interested. If you don't want their calls tell them.

I hear ya. ever since i want to the bridal expo last week at the carlyle on the green, I've got phone calls and email up the wall. I gave my cell number so if i don't recognize the number, I don't pick it up. and the emails, GOOD LAWD!!! i delete 5 or so a day. extremely annoying.

Oh and I did a search of this wonderful, popular vendor and I only noticed one bride on here who used them!!! I mean I know people use unknown DJs but I wanted to see just how many people talked about them and its was exactly 1

I have a really hard time believing that they are able to generate a lot of business by calling people who never asked them to. It is just annoying!

Everyday when I came home form work there would be at least 3-5 missed calls and always messages, and in the evening time they would all call back again, and again, and again! I finally couldn't take it anymore so I changed my #

Theyre getting your name from this site bc i rec'd a call yesterday and they flat out said :I got your name and number from LIweddings.com. It was annoying. Now im expecting the calls to start flooding in
