I have a dumb question about changing my name on the passport

sorry if this is a dumb question......
it asks to mail your marriage certificate. is that the one that you got from the church (the smaller one) or the certificate you had to get before your wedding at the town clerk?

It's the one that you got in the mail from the Town Clerk.

Not a dumb question at all... it took me a sec to figure it out too!

Please let us know if they mail it back to you and (you have to send the original, right?) and how long it takes to get everything back.

My passport is one of the few things I haven't changed over yet.
