Re: It happened today - someone invited themselves

someone at work is doing the same thing. i don't work in the same department as her anymore. I just laugh it off. if she asks why she isn't invited, i'll just say i had to cut the list down

Re: It happened today - someone invited themselves

Those who can't say no wind up with guests lists of over 300!

If you want an affordable wedding you are going to have to get tough. Just call her back and say you are sorry but you just couldn't invite everyone you wanted to and you are already at max capacity for the room.

We didn't invite anyone we haven't seen or heard from in a year, except a few people that live in Europe... hence we have a very do-able budget.

tell her that you think it would be lovely for her to go to the church....tell her it means alot to you that she wants to be there to SEE you get married...alot of people do this...especially the older generation!

I dont have the heart to say no.. Its my ex boyfriends sister! I havent talked to her in like a year and a half and then she calls me out of the blue today and says she needs directions to the wedding.

I just coudnt say no and I can not even stand to be in the same room as her husband. Is there a way I can say dont invite him

How do I handle this?

Ask her, what wedding is she talking about? Say, I'm sorry, but I had to keep the guest list short.

Girls.... why do you feel the need to obligate yourselves to inviting people who you don't want at your wedding or weren't intending to invite?! I don't understand why no one can put their foot down and say this!

Re: It happened today - someone invited themselves

I honestly dont know where people get off by assuming they are invited to someone's wedding. Until I actually got an invitation, I would never assume that I was invited to a wedding!

Re: It happened today - someone invited themselves

This is not easy, but you have to be firm and not so apologetic about it. She knows she was inviting herself. Don't be so gullible.

Re: It happened today - someone invited themselves

GRRR. You can call her back and just explain the situation--that just as you couldn't include some relatives, you couldn't include all of your friends. Sad, but true.

I had a cousin email us the other day asking for a clarification on whether his children were invited. Um...their names weren't on the invites, so why would you think they WERE invited?
