Anyone's Hand Fall Asleep

The last two night my hands keep falling asleep and when I wake up to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night I have no feeling in my hands. Anyone else have this?

Re: Anyone's Hand Fall Asleep

I remember this happening to me when I was pregnant. It was really annoying!!! I don't know if it has anything to do with it, but I only slept on my sides during pregnancy. I thought maybe my sleeping positions had an effect on my circulation.

Anyhow, what I meant to say is, you are not alone.

Re: Anyone's Hand Fall Asleep

I had it for about the whole third trimester. It is carpal tunnel syndrome. You are swelling and it is pinching the nerves in your arm. It does go away after the baby, but it took me a few weeks.

Re: Anyone's Hand Fall Asleep

oh yes....I had it bad, in both hands by the end. i would have pain in my forearms, and wake up with total numbness in my hands and fingers. I had no idea what was going on, until I was at a car dealership, and the salesman saw me rubbing my wrist - he said that his wife got horrible carpal tunnel when she was pregnant (something to do with swelling) but that after the baby she was fine. So, I just waited it out, and after the baby it totally went away!

Re: Anyone's Hand Fall Asleep

I had it way before getting pregnant and had 3 surgeries to correct arm nerve problems. Get yourself a brace w/metal insert (at CVS type stores) and wear it at night. It should help.

Thanks for the replies. I'll try the brace idea. Thanks!

Re: Anyone's Hand Fall Asleep

It's definitely a pregnancy thing I had it and I looked it up. Totally normal. It will go away afterwards.
