I don't think I would pay for them if they weren't included in a package. It isn't a necessity.
I think they are helpful only because you get to work with your photographer and get used to him/her. We get the proofs, negatives of our shoot and 1 enlargement, but if cost is an issue, maybe they could just do the shoot and give you the negatives.

They come with our package but we are going to pay a little extra to have them shot in the city.

If I don't engagement pics from a photographer, I'm going to have my Dad snap some pics of me and FH down by the beach over the summer. Dad is a great photographer (although not professional), and I'm pretty good with photo editing, so I think it'll all work out.

yup we are doing them,they were included in our package, they are making the seating cards with our eng photo on it.....We havent done them yet, im waiting to get some nice color & then do them>>

we might have done a very cheap little sears type thing..but they were included in our package..and i cant wait to do them!

We aren't doing them. They weren't included in our package and I just can't justify spending the extra $$. I am thinking of asking my friend who is an amazing photographer to just take a few pics of us and then using one of them for our sign in board.

They are included in the package which I am glad about....its a nice little extra but I don't know if I would have paid the extra $$$ for them

I asked and it's an extra $75 for engagement pic's. We said nevermind. We have plenty of pic's of eachother anyway.

We're not having any professional engagement pictures taken. Instead we're using a nice pic of the 2 of us at last year's Holiday Party and we put that on our announcements before we sent them out. They came out great, we'll leave the pro's to worry about the wedding itself!
