Re: Labial Adhesions in baby girls

I think Amber has this. It's where the (Sorry, way TMI) 'lips' are sort of fused. They gave me estrogen cream for her. They were contemplating surgery but the effects can be remedied w/the cream. I'm not 100% sure if that's what you mean though. It can affect them with frequent UTI's, sexual complications, etc. Last time she was at the doctors, they didn't feel she required surgery 'yet'.

Re: Labial Adhesions in baby girls

that is exactly what I'm talking about. We were in Canada for my God daughters first birthday, and she has that. She had it when she was a few months old, and it opened with the cream, but now is closed again. It looks totally closed to me - I was freaking out for her. But then they took her to the doctor yesterday and he said just keep trying with the cream for a few weeks.
I'm glad to hear your doc told you the same thing.
BTW - my cousin is a pediatric nurse and she sees girls come in once in a while with this, she said the surgery is totally nothing and they go right home.

Re: Labial Adhesions in baby girls

My girlfriends daughter has this. She uses the cream too. As of right now, surgery is not needed.
