MY BRIDAL SHOP WENT BANKRUPT - HELP!!!!!

Hello,
I am a little freaked out right now because I just found out my bridal shop went bankrupt - Kay Ann Bridal in Franklin Sq. I ordered everything from there and thank god I still have 5 months until the wedding but I need your help. I am in the process of trying to find out whether the dresses were actually ordered from the manufacturers of my dress and the bridesmaids but in the meantime, I want to try to find my dress in another store so I can order it if I need to ASAP. Has anyone seen Demetrios Style 790 anywhere??? Thank you SO MUCH. I don't even know if we will be able to get our money, we put down $850 on my dress and the girls all put down over $100 on theirs but I am just so thankful the wedding is 5 months away and not 1 month!! We are supposed to call their lawyer or something or sue in small claims court.. I don't even know but all I care about is finding my dress again

Hello, first sorry for this added stress that you DON'T need. As for your dress. I am actually getting the same one!!! I bought mine in Macys in the Smithhaven mall. (They just called me today to tell me it was in.) Hopefully this place forwarded the money to the manufacturer then you may be able to have it sent to a Bridal Store. The bridal suite in Centereach also carries Dimetrious. Hope this helps.

okay dont panic--i have a solution for you! i ordered my demetrios gown from phyllis limmer at gownfind.com (she's located in east northport). all you need to do is giver her your size/style that you ordered and she can get it to you in about 12-14 weeks. she is a discount bridal services rep, so she'll probably give you a price that is MUCH lower than what you got at your bridal shop. HTH!!!

Maybe this is a dumb question, but if the order went through to the manufacturer already, couldn't they just ship it to you instead of the store?? I may be naive in thinking they would do this, but it doesn't hurt to ask.

I ordered my demietros gown from burtons in melville, it was about $400 less than macys and 250 less than the store i found it in..

call them, usually they will give u prices on the phone

when i got married two years ago i went to bridal suite on middle country road really really good i was very happy with them! good luck i am so sorry you are going through this!

Hi! I was a BM for my cousin and the same thing happened! It was a bridal store that went bankrupt in Astoria. We were not able to get the dresses! I was able to get a my deposit back because I had put it down on credit card. I called the credit card company and I had to fill out paperwork. I got my deposit back! Thank you all so much! I am going to try that gownfind.com woman and see what she can do, once I find out that they did not order the dresses. If they ordered them already which I highly DOUBT then I will just have the manufacturer send them! But I highly doubt they did it......thanks for your thoughts. this really stinks

I was just able to do this. My FMIL ordered her dress there and I called the Manufacturer and the dress was ready to be shipped and they are shipping it to FMIL tomorrow. Try to call the manufacturer so hopefully you will not lose your deposit. Good luck.

You will definitely get your deposit back if you used your credit card. Hopefully you all did! There is a law that protects all deposits and payments made with credit cards The Law is called Federal Regulation C, it entitles the consumer to receive refunds if the merchandise isn't delivered/ or isn't as promised.

I can't believe this! I was just there browsing about 3 weeks ago!!! How can they do this??This is so not fair - if you paid by credit card definitely dispute it & get your money back.

I just found out today also! My wedding is in July. I can even begin to figure out what to do or if I have enough time to find my dress elsewhere.

Those people should rot in HELL for a very long time.
