Get Your Invitations Weighed at the Post office!

Maybe this is obvious to the rest of you, but I wanted to say --definitely get your invitations weighed at the post office before mailing them. I did this at the last minute after someone advised me to do so, and I am so glad I did! Do you know my invitations cost 60 cents, not 37 like I thought they would?

They didn't seem that stuffed, but I guess the paper was heavy. So I definitely recommend taking a trip to the post office before sending out your invites!

Good advice!!

I read this on the boards but didnt take the advice, because I weighed the invite at my office and it said 37cents would be fine and stamped all my invites, took them to the post office to mail and found out its an 'irregular shape' which means more postage!!

So I had to add an ugly stamp to all of them!!

Good advice! I've read here (numerous times) the pain of the invites and mailing them out.

Yeah!!!! Imagine getting all of your invites back with a big stamp that says 'INSUFFICIENT POSTAGE FOR WEIGHT'

that would be horrible... !!!

I've also heard you should bring a few invites and have them all weighed as they may not all be exactly the same and you want to make sure you have enough postage to cover the heaviest.

i was told that 60 cents is the average for invites

I believe that 60 cents is what most invitations cost in postage. They make some very pretty 60cent stamps pretty much for this purpose

yup, most invites are 60 cents

they don't make too many wedding-ish stamp sets anymore...
