I told off the makeup person now (update for those that read my prior post)

She just emailed me apologizing and saying she hopes I'd understand... understand? Oh yea, I understand that all she cares about is $$ and not customer service... So I felt the need to tell her what I felt.

I emailed her this:

Actually, I do not understand. I think it's in extremely poor taste to do what you've done, and I'm just glad I found out that money is the most important thing to you over service. That is good to know.
Any other makeup person would allow me to have my trial first, as scheduled. The other bride should have had to wait for me to choose.
Good luck to you

My B--y side came out in FULL force tonight.

ETA: oh my gaaad! she just emailed me AGAIN saying no other person in the industry would wait until after the trial without a deposit! I beg to differ.

LOL, now I was a REAL b---ch.
I said:
this has come up before with other makeup artists and BELIEVE me, they DO follow through with their obligations. I'm just glad I found this out before booking you!
And you would've made more on my wedding than this other person, just to let you know. It's going to be a very extravagent affair.
All my best.

OK, in truth, my wedding is not going to be that 'extravagent, i just wanted to make her feel bad b/c she broke a committment that she made to me a month ago and this is HARD ENOUGH to plan from 1500 miles away!
I know I was a B--ch. I know it. Couldnl't help it this time.

Re: I told off the makeup person now (update for those that read my prior post)

I'm using a make-up artist. Her name is Janet Bari (JanetBari.com). She's been doing bridal make-up for years. During the week she works for Lancome in Bloomingdales in NYC. A bunch of my friends have used her in the past. She does great work.

The best part- she comes to you the morning of your wedding- so there is no running around.

If you want tell her Robin gave you her name!

I think you did the right thing. After what she pulled I wouldn't want her as my makeup person. I'm sure you will have to problem finding someone else good to do your makeup. At least you found out sooner than later.
