Do you buy bottled water for baby?

I was in the doc's office today and read a short article saying that tap water may be better for babies than buying bottled water because it has fluoride... and if you are going to buy bottled water, you should make sure it has fluoride. We've been buying bottled for 6 months now but wonder if it's necessary. Do you buy bottled water? Thanks

Re: Do you buy bottled water for baby?

I do. I never use tap water. I used to buy the Beechnut water with flouride. Now that he's off formula I just use Poland Spring. I just feel better using it. JMO

Re: Do you buy bottled water for baby?

I have been using Poland Spring, Dr. didn't say we had to. But my water doesn't have Fluoride in it, not all tap water does you need to check with your local water dept.

About a month ago I mentioned it to the Dr., asking if maybe I should try the Nursery Water again (we tried it a few months ago and it made the spitting up worse) and instead we got a prescription for Vitamins and they have fluoride in them.

HTH

(side note - when I was young, Queens' Jamaica water did not have fluoride in it... I just know that this contributes to my dental problems.)

Re: Do you buy bottled water for baby?

we have a filter on our home water supply, that's what she gets, straight from the tap - that's what I make her formula with.

Re: Do you buy bottled water for baby?

I use our regular water and then boil it first. Then I put it in a pitcher just for her on the counter and get bottles ready to just add formula later when I need them.

Re: Do you buy bottled water for baby?

We haven't had the baby yet, but all we drink in our house is bottled water. My DH refuses to drink LI water so even our cats drink bottled. He thinks that it's contaminated because of all the pockets of cancer on LI. He figures it's either the water, power lines or some other strange coincidence. He may be crazy, but doesn't think its worth the risk.

I read the same article -- I use Poland Spring, but I never boiled it and the article said that we should even be boiling bottled water. Does everyone else boil even the bottled water?
