getting dressed?
Hi everyone- I don't post often on here, but i have a question that i must ask..... for any past brides or future brides that are wearing or wore a corset back gown- how did you get into the dress? I am wearing maggie sottero harmony, and it is that style. the problem is is that i am wearing a fairly large crinolin underneath and i have no idea how i am going to get into my dress. people have said it will have to go over my head and NOT step into it- but if that is the case- how will i get it on w/out getting my makeup all over it and my hair getting all messed up? please help....getting very stressed about this! thanks!

Re: getting dressed?
Can you put on the dress 1st and then have your BP hold your dress & help you get into the slip. It may take some coordination but it might work...just a thought

To avoid messing up up your hair or getting make up on your dress - step into your dress after opening up the corset part as wide as possible (or totally take off the ribbon closure if necessary). After your dress is on - step into the crinoline.
I did this at RK when trying on dresses. I remember telling my consultant that on the wedding day it will make a really funny photo for whomever helps get the crinoline on since they will be totally under my skirt.

Re: getting dressed?
Your bridal salon should be giving you specific instructions on how to do this!!Anyway, this is how I was told to get into mine even though it wasn't a corset back (I don't think that matters so much):
Step into the gown - someone must hold it open for you and someone else helps you step in.
THEN, after the gown is hoisted up into position, someone will take the crinoline and hold it out low so you can step into it (that's right, AFTER your gown is already on). That person must then dive under your gown and pull up the slip, get into place on your waist and tie it up or zip it underneath your gown.
Then you can lace up the rest of the gown.
Sounds convoluted, but it works and it's how I was instructed to put on my gown.
