Do I invite my boss? Please read..
I work in a small fashion company and our CEO is a major socialite, she is cool but sort of intimidating bc she knows everyone. I know that she likes me, but I sort of work independently and we don't have a 'real relationship' with one another. I am afraid that if I don't invite her it may insult her. However if I do invite her I automatically have to invite 6 extra people. I don't even know who she woud sit with, bc my guests are mostly doctors and lawyers and well she is kinda out there. I am not sure she would even come, don't really know what to do. Also I am having about 125 people at my wedding, so its small.

I've read a couple of articles that state you shoud extend and invitation to your immediate boss as a courtesy. Why do you have to automatically invite 6 people?

I wouldn't invite her. If she ever brings it up, just state it was for family only.

She is the CEO but I work directly for someone else, so I would have to invite their SO. It ends up being 6 people.

Tough one but would she make u nervous and uncomfortable at your wedding? If the answer is yes, I would say no. Plus, if they (boss & coworkers) know u're having a small intimate wedding, they probably won't take it personal that you don't invite them. Good luck!

Oooohhhh!!!! Can you confide in your immediate boss? Maybe they will be able to give you an honest opinion without blowing up your spot.

I am not inviting my boss - I can not really stand to be around him, so I would never want him at my wedding. My feeling is, it is my personal affair and I will not invite someone who I dislike so much to be a part of that.

good luck!

I would...especially if you plan on continuing your career there. Even if she doesn't come it is a nice courtesy and besides...it does away with any embarrasment if you want to talk about the wedding at work. JMOedited for spelling

I'm inviting my boss.... but I really like her, so it's not the same situation as yours.as far as etiquette goes, I'm not sure how many people are hung up on following it verbatim. Do what you feel is best.
It sounds to me like you're leaning against inviting her. Go with your gut instinct.
