Another home for sale in my neighboorhood - crazy prices continued!

Okay, I walk past this house with Golem every night and while it's not a dump, it's not exactly the nicest looking house on teh block either...... where did they come up with this price?!?!?!?!?!

Again, future looks good for when it comes time to sell our house, but honestly - these prices are almost obscene! Had to share!

East Meadow home for sale

OMG!

That's why we are leaving LI. Even if we could have afforded that, I refuse to pay that much money.

Re: Another home for sale in my neighboorhood - crazy prices continued!

I am pretty used to the asking prices from the homes in my area, but this house is so NOT worth this price at all! There are no renovations, the yard is messy, and the house just looks so old and neglected! I doubt they will get what they are asking for here - it's just ridiculous considering the condition of the house!

Re: Another home for sale in my neighboorhood - crazy prices continued!

They must have been 'cleaning' all last week because every night when I walked past it on my nightly walk with Golem - there were tons of bags, boxes, and lots of other garbage sitting in piles outside too! - the open house was on Sunday, I totally wanted to go inside and look around, but we had the dog with us.

There are a lot of much nicer homes on that same block that I could see asking that much for. If a home is more updated, in better condition, and much more lovingly maintained, then I can see spending that much....but for this place?? That kitchen is from what, 1960?? Absolutely insane.

My IL's bought their house 15 years ago for $300,000. The REA told them they could EASILY get 1.2 Million right now if they wanted to sell it.

Re: Another home for sale in my neighboorhood - crazy prices continued!

had to share an update! So, I'm walking Golem on our nightly stroll and we pass this house again.... NOW they have more bages, boxes, etc. of garbage piled up all along the side of the house and the curb!!! I still can't get over this asking price...

I really am curious though- are there any real estate pros here who can help explain where this price might have come from, and why it is so high considering the condition of the house??

OMG I just fell off my chair...Maybe its a miss print. That is a dump. It could be nice but it needs a ton of work. I cannot believe they took the pictures with all the stuff everywhere...
Scott

P.S. I wonder if the rusty Barbque comes with the house...If it does - I will take it for asking price lol
