Re: ENGAGEMENT PARTY IDEAS!
Do you have a pool? You can make it a pool party or center it around 4th of july so there are fire works.

Re: ENGAGEMENT PARTY IDEAS!
I am doing the same thing. Last summer I had a bday party - rented tents & tables, played music, had food, that was pretty much all we needed. It went well. I hope the engagement party goes the same. Good luck. Some people have suggested speeches, but I am not doing that.

Re: ENGAGEMENT PARTY IDEAS!
We had a big BBQ (not for an EParty) last summer. It was a Tiki theme (at FH's request), had bunch of tiki torshes around, had a tent set up, rented tables and chairs, also had a little 'Fire pit' we bought at Target and a few things from Party City. As for music, my brother's bedroom faced the backyard, so he put his CD player on, w/ his MP3 Player hooked up to it on ramdon play.

Re: ENGAGEMENT PARTY IDEAS!
I would do a lawn party - set up horseshoes, croquet, and games kids can play. I can't think of the names off hand, but all the toy stores sell frisbee toss and bean bag toss games and other 'soft toy' games that can be played outdoors without a child losing an eye. Kids are also good at entertaining themselves. At my E-party last summer, we had a party in my parent's yard with a tent. We set up lawn games for the adults and the kids had a ball playing duck duck goose and tag.

Re: ENGAGEMENT PARTY IDEAS!
We had an E-Party last sumer in our backyard and it was a huge success.
We rented a tent, tables and chairs as well as a volleyball net (all from the same place) and got a keg and had it catered.
Late night, we had one of those fire bowls too and made s'mores.
It was so fun. Very casual and laid back. We also had about 60 people, so there were enough people to keep everyone occupied.

Re: ENGAGEMENT PARTY IDEAS!
Sidewalk chalk! Kids like to use it cause they can draw and make murals and it cleans up easily. Plus it's nice to see what they've created when they're done. Bubbles are good, too! Think about maybe hiring someone to babysit them whose job is to keep them entertained, of course this depends on how many you have and how old they are.Welcome New Vendors
