Ladies who let your MIL pick her pictures for the parent album Please come in!

For the newlyweds who let your fmil pick out which photos would go into her parent album how many pictures were of you and DH???

My Mil picked her 24 pictures for her album. Im not even joking when I say that there is 1 pic of me alone ( I am going to be on one page and DH on the opposite page) and other then that there is only 1 other photo of JUST me and my DH!!!
ALL the pictures she picked are of course of her and her son which is fine by me but almost the whole album is full of her and her husband. She even wanted to put a picture of just me and her daughter (a bm) over the picture of me and my DH!!!!!! There is not even one picture for the actual ceremony ( you know the important part!!! ) I am a little annoyed but whatever its her album. I guess I just find it odd b/c looking at it besides those 2 pictures you wouldnt even know whos wedding it is!

Just wondering if anyone else's Mil did the same thing.

I feel that my MIL picked as much of her family as she could (which I expected) but there were only a few without me because my photographer just didn't take many without me.
What I did find that I'm sure she'd disagree with is, she picked the photos that she looked the absolute best in. If any other of my inlaws (her husband, daughter, son etc.) looked awkward or in the wrong direction or whatever, she didn't seem to care.

I don't really care because it is her album...but yes, she picked pictures of mostly herself and her friends. I didn't expect her to pick any photos of me alone, but there aren't even very many of her son in there!! And I think she picked the worst ones possible of me...but I guess she was looking to see which ones she or Seb looked best in, not me.

But, then again, when I look at my mom's, although it is much more centered on the wedding and not her and my dad or family, etc...my DH doesn't even figure in until about the 6th or 7th page Poor guy! But to be fair, we took a lot of family pictures and me getting ready pictures before the ceremony. Dh didn't want any taken of him. So, if they're all in chronological order, there were lots more pics taken of me and my family before the ceremony.

My MIL balanced it out pretty well. There are more pictures of her side, but she even chose a family picture of my family only - my IL's are not even in it!

She also tried to pick pictures where everyone looked good, not just her.

Ditto on this for my MIL...she did balance out her album well...there were a few changes DH and I made when we got the photographers though...but, I don't think she'll even notice. It's been so long...but, we're picking our albums up next weekend!!!!

oh boy... i haven't seen my MIL album yet (which I let her pick out her pictures).. but knowing her it will be ALL HER AND HER SON.. im going to be pissed i can see it already.

OMG Maxine, I thought it was just me!
MIL's album is all about her & her nephews. ( The groomsmen)

She picked NO ceremony pictures, except for one of her nephew escorting her mother in.
There is one of me alone & 1 of my family, I think there may be one of dh. I am not sure if ther are any of us alone, maybe 1, but she did get a few reprints.

Mostly her pictures were all taken from a 15 minute session outside before the CH hour.
She has tons of repetitive combinations, MIL & DH , FIL & DH , MIL & FIL & DH, MIl & FIL, DH & groomsmne, FIL & DH & Groomsmen, MIL, FIL , DH & Groomsmen. .. .

We were almost embarased to show it to the album designer . They were so random, we didn't know how to arrange them.

ETA- my parenet's album on the other hand, is sort of a mini version of ours, & includes my family, evetns, me & DH & DH's family.

my mil picked mostly their family. but the funniest part was when we said oh you also get an 8x10 and she wanted to get one of her and fil! we gently suggested she might like one of the actual wedding couple! she's so self-centered it's not even funny. oh well.... it's her album...

My MIL picked of course most of her family which is expected, buy honestly she picked out a few of me & DH.

MIL narrowed down her choices but I made the final cut on her album because she was SO indecisive. I made sure she had the pics she wanted and it was balanced. She wanted pics of her family, of course, but she wanted some pics of me alone, which I was surprised about.

my MIL did the same, plus the only pic on display of MY wedding in her home, is her and DH together dancing.

Surprising!! My MIL evenly distributed the pics. She didn't put any solo ones of me though..I don't really care either..

She actually picked quite a few of me and my family which I thought was odd. My mom really didn't pick any of Dale and his family. It was filled with pics of me and my family. Not to say she doesn't like Dale and his family.

Since my MIL isn't healthy, I picked out the top 25 I thought she would like to save her from looking thru 900 proofs!!! (her book had 18 pics)

I chose a mix of me, DH, her and FIL, family pics, church pics. She picked what she liked. For her 8x10 pic, she chose her and FIL walking back up the aisle after the ceremony. I thought it a bit strange, so I scanned an 8x10 of DH, me, his parents, siblings and neices/nephews.

It's her choice, so I can't really be too upset.

Don't let it bother you too much.

I have to say both my Mom and MIL tried to 'balance' out their albums.

If anything, my MIL balanced out her album MUCh better than my Mom did. In my Mom's album, there are FAR too many pics of me by myself, with my brother, etc.. not enough with DH

BUT there are quite a few pics of me and DH in MILs albums, and even 2 solo shots of me in MIL's album.. I felt honored, actually

But of course , my MIL's album favors their family, and my Mom's album favors our family --

Heck they both took SO LONG to pick out their pictures, I honesty didn't care after awihie if they selected pictures of flowers at that point

I told my mom she could only have one picture of me alone & gave her two to chose from.

I HATE pictures of me alone.

my MIL actually got a list from the Knot of pics she should have in her album as the MOTG. so it is pretty even, but of course they are a bit biased (like DH is looking at camera & I am not, no pics of me being walked down the aisle from the front, only from the back so DH is in the pic), but what really bothered me is that when she went through her first cut, she chose 75 pictures!!!! I told her that was too many & she offered to pay, but it wasn;t the money....this ablum is a gift from us and should not be bigger than our album.

Most of her pictures were DH's side of the family- which I expected. There were 2 pictures of DH and me alone. (They got 28 pictures) I was also in a few of the group shots that were taken of the whole family for FIL's family and MIL's family.
