how long before wedding should I get my chocolate favors

I'm planning to have chocolate favors, but I'm afraid of them melting over the summer.

Can any past brides who had chocolate favors let me know how far in advance they ordered their chocolates?

Thanks

I think usually chocolate has a shelf life of 6 months. When it starts to turn white it is no longer good.

I'll probably get them 3-4 days before the wedding, and will have ice packs in the boxes so they wont melt.

I would get them no sooner than 1 month before.

Re: how long before wedding should I get my chocolate favors

I got mine a few months before and they were fine. They did ship them with ice packs, since it was summer. I think the thing that turns them white is drastic change in temperature, so whenever you get them, don't refrigerate them. Just put them in a cool dry place in the house.

Re: how long before wedding should I get my chocolate favors

I got some of my chocolate like 6 months before my wedding. I just kept it in a cool and dry spot and it was fine.
